About the trip
Jardines de la Raine or Gardens of the queen is a protected marine area with limited access to the public. Imagine yourself in the middle of the open ocean surrounded by a mangrove forest that makes a home for gracious American crocodiles. The reefs around this area are untouched, covered with vibrant soft coral and extremely healthy hard coral accompanied by thousands of reef fish. The water is crystal clear littered with sharks. As soon you emerge your face you start seeing Caribbean reef sharks coming to check you out. Early in the morning, you can encounter big groups of Silky sharks in the open blue. We do 2-3 dives a day plus night dive on 2 days of the trip. If the conditions are good and the behavior of the crocodiles is calm we can jump to the water and snorkel with them in the mangroves in between our dives.
‘’There are so many sharks in the water circling you all day that even at night you keep having them peacefully swimming with you in your dreams.
It brings hope to my days to see places like this with a healthy shark population and pristine reefs. Let’s help with the protection of this place to keep it as pure as it is so it can continue being a nursery for the next shark generations ‘’
